Piano FC is a soccer team that was formed and watered with so much sweat last year around March. The time when our country was under strict lockdown regulations that were introduced for the first time by our President.
The Piano FC Captain, Gavin, says that the main idea then, was just to relieve themselves from boredom that stricken as they were restricted from playing, but that never stopped them. The team started on a low, playing 1 on 1's against their village rivals. Whilst on that, they then took part in Mapateng Blue Birds' top 4 soccer tournament and that is where they had an immediate impact.
"I would say the unity we had is what kept us going and striving for better", said Gavin.
Last year, Piano FC won numerous games but only won 1 top 8 tournament, which was their first-ever tournament since formed at Dinare FC in Jupiter until year-end. They haven't won any tournaments since, but that also wasn't strong enough to take them down. As 2021 begun Piano FC kept on playing and losing, but never gave up. "Recently, after a squad overhaul we told ourselves that any opponents that come our way, we are prepared to face. We are a team of the future". Gavin proclaimed!
Piano FC is currently going through their best moments as a team since born and says that it is such an honour to be labeled as the best team around. That is because they have reached their minimum objective a little too soon, as they never expected to have so much impact. "But it is what it is. you have to kill the King to claim the Throne and Piano FC did it twice". Gavin laughed.
Furthermore, He unfolded for us that their goal here is to ensure a performance that is better than yesterday. After every game win or loss, it's back to the drawing board. More training with more intensity. They then try harder by all means to keep the form they are in, and hope for better results..
Looking at Piano FC's future is the brightest although at this moment branching out is not a short-term goal for them, They tell us that they will need some time to reach that. Their current plan is to have a team that is capable of competing in it's highest level possible. "We already have youngsters whom we hope to save and have as our future first-team players". Gavin nods.
One of Mashashane's best soccer referees, Oupa "Mopapa" Ledwaba says that he is impressed by how the Piano FC has taken the fields by storm and given the power to its name with just a snap. "Keep it up, boys!" Says Oupa.
Piano FC sends the warmest and biggest thanks to each and every loyal Piano FC supporter and the fans. "These people are our greatest impact, as they do not play but their love for our team seems infinite. They fall with us and rise with us.
A big, deep THANK YOU for that.
Piano FC Family
A lot would like to know how the name Piano FC transformed.
"As stronger and influential South African music genre Amapiano is, we are also that stronger. Now, watch us and nourish your body and soul". Piano FC.
One of the organisers and veteran footballers of the recent tournament that took place this past weekend, Mendu, took to the socials and wrote " Piano FC champions again. You gotta love them because they have installed a winning mentality in them. Hail Piano Hail! Your results, speaks volume, you are the best team around Mashashane at the moment".
Football requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect for authority.
