"My Father and I are onto different paths and callings but I respect him". Said Potego Junior Ledwaba who grew up in a loving family of Christians. His music journey started when he was still young but never knew he'd grow with music, by music to tell a story. It all started when He became a drummer at his Father's church and as he grew, he decided to explore, take what he learnt to the streets, improve his skills, juggling between different genres and sound to make people merry. That sparkled his love for music.
Potego is popularly known as Juno SA from Ga-Mashashane Mandela. Growing up, Juno was exposed to different types of music. At home, his family listened to gospel music while at taxi ranks and tuck shops he heard Kwaito and traditional music. All this played a role in fulfilling Juno SA's love for music.
Before The Music Bug.
19-year-old Juno SA had a carefree childhood that involved riding bicycles on the streets and playing Morabaraba with his friends but says His fondest memories includes dressing up for church every Sunday.
"My father is a Pastor".
"Yes, My father is a Pastor and I respect him a lot. His response when he found out I was performing in night clubs, at first he was a bit uneasy with it. It was probably because of the fear of what people would say especially his beloved congregation but eventually he related to my plans with understanding and as a supportive Father.
As he adds he says that even after a long, busy night, he still makes sure to wake up as per given time for church. That's how much he respects his parents and fellow congregation and knows how to juggle between the two. "They understand that I'm trying to make a living but the bigger picture in all of this, is doing what I love most".
Juno SA is part of the most loved duo in the village with Mashashane's finest DJ, Spooko Mabinixa but also does separate gigs. "We respect each other's side gigs and the support is gallore. When we come together, It is always us with the same energy of satisfying our fans". Juno SA said. Their work is impressively lovable.
With that been said, he unfolds that nothing would warm his heart more than getting to work with other artists that inspired him to follow the musical path and create a brand that will speak for him without his movement.
"I'm proud of the fact that my love for music all began in church. My Manager, Family and fans' support is greatly appreciated" he also says.
