Mashashane PSG is a brainchild of Mashashane Utjane's Robert Gwangwa (34) better known by his soccer name, King Mendu. On the streets, Robert is labelled as a born leader. He is a footballer that has been going on for 21years. From then till this date, he has won many tournaments, more than any other player in the village. He has also won several individual Awards.
"I love football so much that I can feel it running through my blood veins. I come from a football fanatic family". Mendu laughed. Before the birth of Mashashane PSG, Robert played professionally for Naughty boys in 2010, Mighty FC in 2015 that are both in ABC Motsepe League. Locally, he played for Denvor and Utjane United which according to research, were the best teams in Mashashane when King Mendu was still part. After winning Mashashane Top 16 Super Cup in December 2017 under Utjane United, that was King Mendu's farewell game to forming Mashashane PSG.
PSG won 48 games in a row and went to reach last 8 of Maft tournament at Moletjie worth R150 000. Unfortunately the tournament was postponed to this coming December due to the pandemic we faced with. Although they receive a total amount of R25 000.
The Proud Mendu and his team, host the biggest soccer tournaments in the village for Mashashane soccer teams, soccer lovers and supporters to gather and have a splendid weekend of a fruitful Indigenous game with no sponsers nor any sort of cash injection. One would ask how they always come out on top when organising these type of events. "Do they hire a planner ?"

Mendu says that It is so easy for them to organize tournaments that will be on people's tongues for weeks because it has been so many years for him, in it.
"I am not just the founder of Mashashane PSG but also a well known footballer in the village".Mendu proclaimed. This year, Mashashane PSG hosted 15 tournaments and reveals that soon, they will be hosting a tournament worth of R30 000 stake which He, as the Tournament Manager, will inject a total amount of R6000.00 from his own pocket to make sure that his village teams are kept busy and to sparkle the thrive for success in them. Scouts or ABC Motsepe League Coaches will be invited.
" Love football, it will love you back" said King Mendu.
King Mendu's plans for his team are to play in ABC league and to win top 32 tournement with PSG. "This year we affiliated 2 top 32s (Maft and Dr ManamelaTournaments) that both worth R150 000. If God can grant me a chance to play and win it, I will retire and coach my team. " My football career can end anytime soon".
"Critics and hardwork kept the team going. Our success left those were trying to pull us down eating humble pies". This year 2021, PSG played 17 of 20 tournaments. With confidence, King Mendu tells us that they are the most successful team around.
The gifted footballer says that he hunts when he is off the grounds. "I have dogs and I hunt a lot when I'm not playing football. Actually, before I go to training, I get some fitness in hunting. If not hunting, I watch football games on TV. In 2017 and 2018 respectively, King Mendu released a few hits with Mr.P Man, King Monada and DJ Call Me, but he quit because soccer kept bugging him. Rather than that he is a Professional Firefighter at the Polokwane Municipality.
There is no such as failure when you do what you love. They are called lessons.
