
Maboni got his elementary education from Motsiri Primary school, did his grade 8 at Tlakale Mashashane Commercial High School then transferred to Mohlokamotala High School near Nylstroom where he completed his Matric.

Following this, Maboni went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elisabeth in the Eastern Cape and qualified as a Biological Scientist. After completion, he worked as a Science Communicator for the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement partnering with Seipone Newspaper, writing Science in African indigenous languages.
During that time, he also enrolled in an international cultural exchange program that qualified him as a tourism ambassador for the city of Lanxi in China. Returning from China, Maboni had an increased love for his country and humanity, he then founded Science For Ubuntu in 2017.

Science for Ubuntu (PTY) Ltd (Sci4Ubuntu) is a Science Research and Communication company playing a momentous role in the development and promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Innovation (STEMI) literacy, understanding and engagement. We do this through Community-based research, Science Communication, Engagement, and Education with different stakeholders”. Said Maboni.
He further told us that
They do this with a comprehensive understanding of socio-economic, geopolitical, and educational challenges that characterise society.
“We employ the use of appropriate skills, media, activities and dialogue to stimulate awareness, interest, and understanding of and about Science in different sectors of society. Our team of Science advocates with diverse skills work together to bring forth multi-disciplinary approaches addressing client challenges and serving their needs”.
