Local Star Tebogo Ledwaba aka Mrembola Shining By Anymeans!

Tebogo Ledwaba (26) began his footballing career at a local football team called Morondo FC in Mashashane, Limpopo province. He became an integral part of the team scoring a hat-trick in his first game against Denver Sundowns from Utjane, also in Mashashane. He also participated in the Amateur Polfer League representing another local team Mandela FC, and helped them to come first and win the league title in 2018. His blistering performance saw him attract the interests of legends like Tlou Segolela ( former Orlando Pirates player), but because of age, his move to Polokwane Rovers was cancelled out.

Mrembola as he is affectionately known by his friends and so many others, is one of the best local talent in Mashashane as far as football is concerned. He states “ I come from an environment that made it difficult for me to pursue my football dream, and it was due to lack of opportunities and resources around the place I grew up in”. Nonetheless, the 26 year old loyalist never stopped believing and extended his passion for the game. He is currently in contact with the likes of Lucky Lekgwathi (former Orlando Pirates player and captain) and others, requesting that they come to Mashashane, and witness the talent that is in the area. Tebogo knows that in his time, opportunities were limited and rare so he is doing all he can to help the youngsters in his community to achieve their dreams.

As described by his teammates and fans, Tebogo is widely known as a set-piece specialist second to none. His dribbling skills also earned him a street credit and he is even compared to Lionel Messi. He is left footed, plays at wings of attack, very quick, strong, skilful and with an eye for goal. His greatest performance was when he scored a hat-trick, and also provided three assists at a league game against Noordeland FC at Limpopo provincial league games in 2011. He holds honours of being the best player at provincial stream A Limpopo (2011), Top goal scorer with 17 goals in the same league, and lastly the 2019 Man Of The Match at the Tlou Segolela Annual Festive Tournament in Moletji, Limpopo province.

Tebogo is a man of many talents. If he not busy in the football field finding the net, he spends most of his time in the studio recording songs. In 2018, he released his first Hip Hop single titled Oliver Twist featuring one local famous artist and producer, Landline43. His stage name is Majestik T. The name was inspired by his self-esteem and belief, that everything is possible now and all in good time. He worked with few other local artists such as Real Supreme, Landline43, Ace Crusher, Sniper The Cypher, Bulby and the list goes on. He featured Ace Crusher on a song called “Sacrifices” which became an instant hit and a talk of town. He rose to fame when he performed at a local annual event Chilla Nathi in 2019. His contribution to the Hip Hop music got him global recognition from some of the US audience after realising a song titled “Giving Thanks” in 2020.

“ I always go out of my way and try to put my hometown on the map. It is what I live for, being an endless dreamer and giving back to my community the best way possible” Tebogo concluded.
