Together We Can Afford Every Girl/Woman A Dignified Menstruation By Donating Sanitary Towels!

A sad reality is that many girls and women in our communities do not afford to buy sanitary towels every month and the fact is sanitary towels are a necessary need for everyone during their menstrual periods. Giving a helping hand is pivotal.

Every month women experience menstruation, therefore sanitary pads are a necessary need for all women.

Helping Hands Foundation, founded by a man who understands the situation even better says he refuses to bask seeing what women go through every month. He then decided to step up and do the little he can with what he has. “Some people choose to turn a blind eye and look away regarding such matters”.

It is enough that our young girls have to bunk schools or even not attend at all because of dropped confidence that comes with those days, why add stress because of not having sanitary pads?

“Giving is just not about making a donation but making a difference,” said Mamodumo.

Helping Hands Foundation has now collected 3200 packs of sanitary pads since the beginning of this year with the help from Always South Africa and other people in the village and from Mpumalanga Province, looking to collect 20 000 pads for young adults in rural areas.

The Founder, Mamodumo Johannes Serota in Ga-Mashashane Utjane says that he had figured that it would be very ignorant of him and the foundation not to do something about the situation that ill plaques women.

Helping Hands Foundation is looking to donate these sanitary pads in schools around Mokopane, Mashashane, and Matlala so far, by next week that is just a few days to come. He mentions that they have already distributed sanitary pads in Osizweni School for LSEN ( SMH ) in Leandre Mpumalanga Province.

Mr Serota says he relates that challenges are everywhere and one of the challenges they are currently facing at this moment, is having to transport about 200 boxes of these sanitary pads from Mpumalanga Province to Limpopo as he has started with this initiative whilst in Mpumalanga due to work commitments.

He says the goal is to pay relief to the young girls. “Charity begins at home but should not end there”.
