Sello was born and bred in the dusty rural areas of Mashashane, Mandela. He is a 30-year-old that is in the poultry farming business selling chickens from day one chicks. Rather than that, Sello is a qualified electrician doing electrical wiring.

According to this young man, poultry farming is an important and diverse component since egg and meat are part of health and diet for larger population all over the world.

"During these lockdowns, my business has being profoundly affected by the pendamic. I worked harder than ever to keep my business running smoothly because people were not buying and I had to keep my live chickens and they were eating profit", said Sello.

That in return, Sello had to give his chickens to people that were gonna pay him later. That is just how he managed during these strict regulations of lockdown and still uses this method.

In the near duture, Aphane says that he wants to expand the business to even bigger, making fresh chicken packs, raise chicken to those who want to re-sell and have indigenous chickens.

Following, are the niches he wants to deal with to improve his business:

  • Meat production (broilers breeding).
  • Egg production ( layers breeding).
  • Poultry feed production.
  • Chicken breeding( hatchery).
  • Egg and meat processing.

Sello is selling his chickens at a young R80 each.

"If you ate today, thank a farmer".
