A pair of 15 shoes was donated of which seven were for boys and eight for girls. The beneficiaries were identified by the school. The donation was made possible through Ms Caroline Selemela, a former learner at the school. This event was held on Wednesday 24 March.
“I have felt a need to donate something to my former primary school as token of appreciation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was difficult for some parents to afford school uniforms and I felt this can make a difference,” stated Selemela.
Mantona Ms MM Manamela extended words of indebtedness to Ms Caroline Selemela for her generosity, stating that the “blessed is the hand that giveth. And you are setting a good example to our community. Keep it up,” said Mantona
The event was attended by amongst others representation of Mošate wa Kgoroshi led by Mantona Ms MM Manamela accompanied by Mr Maleka P,Ms Manamela F, Mr Mathews Manamela ,Ward Committee, Ms Bessy Matsi, Ward Councillor, Cllr Thomas Matondzi, School Governing Body Chairperson to name a few.
Cllr Matondzi is adamant that the donation made by one of the former learner is a generous motivation to others that can pave ways for those who are in need.
“I am always called upon to preside over good initiatives in this village. This village is a good example in Ward 42 Polokwane Municipality. I appreciate initiatives done by individuals within the village.
“I was here when we were opening Kgoroshi Park in2017, hosting Bafana Bafana, Zambia and Madagascar during COSAFA Cup in 2018. We welcome donation to the needy learners sponsored by one of our daughters.
“The donation is a befitting tribute to the human rights month celebration. It brings dignity to the learners,” he said.
Principal of the school, Ms Moabelo was over the moon when awarded the presents.
So she said, that “the school is overwhelmed by this rare gesture. We thank God for all these. Let this be the beginning of more good things to come”
