BEAUTY IS AN ATITUDE-Kgaogelo Teffo

Meet Kgaogelo Teffo. A 22-year-old, bubbly beautician from the streets of Mashashane, Boetse outside Polokwane who loves to explore, create and innovative. Kgaogelo is the founder of Shalom’s Facebeat, a home that whispers ‘beauty’ thinking of it. She is a self-taught make-up artist who believes that there is no weight limit in beauty.

The beauty Queen says that from a tender age she has always loved looking clean and beautiful and with time, fell in love with how one would become a beautiful human after applying their make-up. “ I would cry whenever my sister applied her make-up to work and soforth, I wanted to look like her", She said.

In 2017, Kgaogelo says she saved money to purchase her own make-up kit but that took her a while realising that quality make up kit didn’t come cheap. “With the little I had saved, I decided to buy basics first and would play around with them on myself”. That’s where it all started. When everyone else was spending time with their family and friends, She says she would stay locked up in her room creating a unique colour mixture with her make-up, that grew so much love for beauty in her daily. As she was in it to win, she continued saving, limiting her ideas of fun to buy more products and the rest was history. She and her kit became inseparable.

Today Kgaogelo has a full kit that allows her to render her services to one’s satisfaction at affordable prices. Some might ask, “how can someone start a business with no stable capital and now having such a big kit as Kgaogelo’s, she says that in 2020, she started rendering her services to people around her at a price so atleast she could restockb products. “I never looked back since”. She said.

As she continued, she told us that all her money was used on cosmetics and the rest, new discoved make up materials and data bundles for YouTube channels to improve her ‘already knew’ skills. “The aim was to become the best make up artist in my hood, starting from fleek eyebrows, applying foundation to now been able to mix 5 different colours of eyebrows as part of creative arts” she nodded.

“Challenges would be when people refuses to pay for my services because I am a self-taught. Some would come to me for an urgent make over with money promised later and fail to pay afterwards”, Kgaogelo opens up.

Kgaogelo tells us that she sees her self growing in the industry, not earning much but rendering good services and inspiring a lot of young generations who wants to take her footsteps . She announced that soon, she’ll start with the lessons for those who wants to learn the tactics of make up. “Not for myself but for young people like me who are faced with challenges & difficulties that I incured when I started and also about aspiring young ladies because beauty is an atitude”. Said Kgaogelo

“The love & endless support I’m receiving from people around me is priceless”.
